Baseline

Freight-forwarding business. Financial and management reporting is formed manually in MS Excel or through exports from 1C.

Findings
  • Time-consuming reporting;
  • Each business activity period is represented on separate set of Excel sheets, view of the period info requires switching between the sheets;
  • Low frequency of reporting update (monthly);
  • Lack of access levels management for reporting;
  • Reports available only on demand.
Solution
  • Deployed intermediate SQL data base on Customer’s server and set up regulated data export from 1C;
  • Developed automatically updated reports in Power BI;
  • Distributed access levels to the reports;
  • Set up key indicator dashboards;
  • Trained employees to work with reporting;
  • Developed corresponding instructions.
Outcomes
  • Reduced workload in financial department;
  • Automated up-to-date reporting;
  • Each employee has personal access level to available information;
  • Ensured capabilities for analysis using cross-sections, filters and keys.
